Handyman in Summerlin, Las Vegas

Summerlin is a 45-minute run from our Henderson shop, and we will be straight with you about what that means: no same-day promises, no vague afternoon windows. Instead, Dave books Summerlin work on set days, groups jobs by village, and shows up when the calendar says he will. Plenty of clients from Sun City Summerlin to Summerlin West have decided a scheduled visit from the owner beats a faster visit from whoever a big outfit sends.

Insured and family-owned since 2009. Handyman scope, stated plainly: fixture swaps yes, panel and pipe work no. The jobs outside our lane go to licensed trades we know.

Summerlin Village by Village

Sun City Summerlin keeps a handyman busier than any other part of the community. Nearly 8,000 homes in a 55-plus setting means a constant stream of the small jobs that matter most when you would rather not climb the ladder yourself: ceiling fans before the heat arrives, brighter bulbs and better fixtures in dim hallways, toilet and faucet replacements, and door hardware that has gotten stiff. Our fixture-level electrical work and plumbing fixture service cover most of what these homes ask for.

The Trails, The Willows, and the other 1990s villages are entering their fixture-replacement years. A house built in 1994 is running thirty-year-old disposals, fans, and water heaters, and they rarely fail one at a time. When Dave comes out for one dead disposal, he will happily look over the rest of the usual suspects while he is there, so the next failure does not cost you another service call.

Summerlin West and the newer villages call for a different kind of visit: TV mounting on the right anchors, closet and garage shelving, furniture assembly, backsplash tile, and punch-list items the builder never quite finished. Newer drywall and framing make this quick work when it is all booked together.

Around Downtown Summerlin, we take calls from condo and townhome owners who need work done within community rules. Summerlin HOAs enforce some of the strictest design standards in the valley, and repairs that face the street need to match what the association already approved. Dave has worked under HOA standards since 2009 and treats the rulebook as part of the job, not an obstacle.

How a Summerlin Visit Gets Booked

Cross-valley work only stays affordable when it is planned. Here is the process, start to finish.

1

Text or call with your list

Send photos of each item by text, or describe them over the phone. Dave prices Summerlin work up front whenever the photos make that possible, so there is no mystery number waiting at the end.

2

Get a firm appointment window

Summerlin sits on the far side of the valley from our Henderson base, so we book it as a scheduled visit rather than a squeeze-in. You get a specific day and a tight arrival window, and Dave keeps it.

3

One trip, the whole list

Because the drive is real, we encourage Summerlin clients to stack every open item into a single visit. One faucet is a long drive for us and a bigger bill for you. Eight items is a good morning for everyone.

Summerlin Handyman FAQ

Is Summerlin too far for a Henderson handyman?

It is a real drive, and we plan around it instead of pretending otherwise. Summerlin visits are booked in advance, usually next business day or the day after, and Dave often lines up two or three Summerlin jobs on the same day so the trip makes sense. What you get in exchange is the owner doing the work, not a rotating crew.

Do you work in Sun City Summerlin?

Regularly. The 55-plus homes there generate steady requests for comfort-height toilet installs, brighter lighting, ceiling fan swaps, grab bars set into solid framing, and small repairs that pile up between family visits. Dave explains the work in plain terms and leaves the place clean.

My house in The Trails was built in the 1990s. What should I expect to need?

The older Summerlin villages, The Trails and The Willows among them, are hitting the age where original equipment gives out in clusters: builder faucets, ceiling fans, disposals, interior doors rubbing their frames, and grout that has gone dark. None of that requires a contractor. All of it is squarely handyman territory.

Will you handle HOA paperwork for exterior repairs in Summerlin?

We work within the design standards, and you handle the filing. Summerlin villages are known for strict rules on paint colors, fencing, and anything visible from the street. Dave matches existing approved finishes on repairs and will flag any job that likely needs architectural approval before a single tool comes out.

Are you a licensed contractor or electrician?

Neither, and we want you to know that before you book. Dave O's Fix-It Pros is an insured handyman service. Swapping a light fixture, a switch, or a faucet is within scope. Panel upgrades, new circuits, repiping, and structural changes are not, and for those we hand you the name of a licensed pro rather than winging it.

What does handyman work cost in Summerlin?

Single small jobs in Summerlin start higher than they would in Henderson because the drive is built into the price, which is another reason bundling pays off. A stacked half-day visit usually delivers the best cost per item. Our Las Vegas handyman cost guide on the blog breaks down typical pricing by job type.
