Furniture Assembly in Henderson, Nevada

Flat-pack furniture assembled square and solid, dressers and bookcases anchored to the wall for tip-over safety, plus office and patio furniture. Handyman service for Henderson and Las Vegas valley homes from a family-owned, insured, owner-operated business.

We assemble flat-pack furniture, anchor dressers, bookcases, and TV stands to the wall so they cannot tip over, and set up office and patio furniture. We price the job before we start based on the list of pieces, so send model names or links. Adding a few other repairs to the same visit makes it go further.

Professional Furniture Assembly in Henderson, Nevada

Flat-pack furniture saves money at the store and costs it back in time. A dresser can mean a hundred parts, a bag of cam locks, and an instruction booklet with no words. Dave assembles it the way the manufacturer intended: every cam lock turned, every dowel glued where the instructions call for it, drawers and doors adjusted so they run straight, and the finished piece checked for wobble before it goes against the wall. Then comes the part people skip. Tall dressers, bookcases, and TV stands get anchored to the wall with the tip-restraint kit, fastened into a stud whenever one is in the right spot. Most visits are a mix: a bed frame and two nightstands for a guest room, a desk and shelving for a home office, or a patio set that arrived in four heavy boxes. We also take apart and reassemble furniture for a move within the house.

Henderson Local Expertise

Henderson homes are wood framed with drywall over the studs, which makes anchoring straightforward when you hit the framing and unreliable when you do not. A plastic plug in drywall is not much to hold a falling dresser. Out back, covered patios are an extension of the living room for much of the year, and patio furniture assembled in the morning beats a project started in a 110 degree afternoon.

Why Anchoring Furniture Matters

A tall dresser with its drawers pulled out becomes front-heavy. Put a toddler on the bottom drawer, or a cat on the top, and the whole piece can tip forward faster than anyone can catch it. TV stands carrying an older, heavier TV have the same problem. This is why furniture now ships with a tip-restraint kit in the box, and why so many of those kits end up in a drawer unused.

An anchor only works if what it is screwed into can hold. We find a stud behind the piece and fasten the strap or bracket into the framing. When the studs do not line up with the furniture, we use a hollow-wall anchor rated for the job and tell you that a stud would be stronger. We can add anchors to pieces you already own, not just new ones. Anchoring is quick, and it is the most useful thing on this page.

Flat-Pack Done Right

Most wobbly flat-pack furniture was put together with one step skipped. A cam lock that was not turned all the way, a back panel left unnailed, or a drawer box that is a fraction out of square. The back panel in particular is what keeps a bookcase or wardrobe from racking side to side, so it gets fastened along every edge the instructions show.

Large wardrobes and tall bookcases also have to be built close to where they will stand. A seven-foot wardrobe assembled flat on the floor may not tilt upright under an eight-foot ceiling, and it will not survive being dragged down a hall. We plan the build around the room, the ceiling height, and the doorways.

Home Office and Patio Setups

Home office calls are usually a desk, a chair, and storage at once. Electric sit-stand frames need the desktop centered and fastened, the legs checked for level, and the cables managed so nothing pulls loose when the desk goes up. If the desk needs an outlet where none exists, that is electrical wiring and goes to a licensed electrician.

Patio furniture is heavy, comes in several boxes, and is often aluminum or resin wicker with dozens of bolts. We assemble it where it will sit, so you are not carrying a finished sectional through the slider. A freestanding set is ours. A patio cover or pergola attached to the house is a structure that usually needs a permit and a licensed contractor, and we will tell you on the call.

What Furniture Assembly Does Not Include

We are a handyman, not a licensed contractor, plumber, or electrician. We do not wire new outlets for desks or lighted cabinets, build attached patio covers, or build custom built-ins and cabinetry. If part of your plan needs a licensed trade, we will tell you on the first call.

Frequently Asked Questions

How much does furniture assembly cost?

It depends on what is in the boxes. A nightstand and a three-door wardrobe with sliding doors are very different jobs. Send the list of pieces with model names or links and we will price the visit before we start. Bundling several pieces, or adding a few other repairs from your list, makes the visit go further.

Should my dresser or bookcase be anchored to the wall?

Yes, especially in a home with kids or pets. Tall, heavy furniture can tip forward when drawers are pulled open or a child climbs it. Most dressers, bookcases, and TV stands come with a tip-restraint kit, and it should be used. We fasten it into a stud wherever we can, not just into drywall.

Can you anchor furniture I already own?

Yes. You do not need new furniture to make it safer. We can add anchors to dressers, bookcases, and shelving units that are already set up in the room, using the kit that came with the piece or a replacement strap or bracket kit.

Do I need to have the furniture in the house already?

Yes. Have the boxes delivered and in or near the room where the piece will live. Check that every box arrived, but leave them unopened if you can so no small parts get lost. Haul-away of a large pile of packaging may need to be arranged separately, so ask when you book.

Can you assemble a standing desk or office furniture?

Yes. Desks, electric sit-stand desk frames, office chairs, filing cabinets, and shelving are common calls. We set up the frame, attach the desktop, check that it raises and lowers level, and tidy the cables on the frame. Wiring a new outlet for the desk is electrical work for a licensed electrician.

What about patio covers, sheds, and play sets?

Patio furniture, outdoor sectionals, and dining sets are ours. A patio cover attached to the house is a structure that usually needs a permit and a licensed contractor. Sheds and large play sets depend on the size and the site, so send photos or a link and we will tell you on the call whether it is in our scope.
